Let's Pretend We're Bunnies!

Here's Hurley again; this time munching away on some food Steve left out for him. Since this picture was taken Steve has given him an official bowl (for the Cheerios, you know?) so he doesn't have to eat off the ground anymore. Look at him and his carrot!

More Shells!

Yet another view of the shells. Seriously - I'm not posting them to simply have more posts, I swear. I really just actually like several of the pictures I took of these shells. In particular in this one I like the detail in the open shell around the middle of the photo. I don't really know why, I just dig it.

Flower

A close up of the flower-print fabric that will eventually become a pillow...

Swirly-like

Another view of the shells on my table. I like how all the lines and ridges are creating some super cool shadows here.

I told you there's be more bunnies

Here's Hurley again, while he was hanging out in the sun the other day. I have to say he is a very cute bunny. I like the redish-ness in his fur. And look at his little nose!

Pillows!

This is what my two new pillows are going to look like next to each other - after I actually turn the fabric into pillows that is...

Sewing

I got a sewing machine for Christmas this past year. I haven't actually used it yet, but I plan to. For my birthday my mom got me the materials to make two pillows. This is one of the fabrics she picked out. I really like it a lot and it's going to match our bed pretty perfectly. I love the sort of sketched look the flowers have. It's a non-girly kind of floral print. I likes it.

Let the Wookie Win

So one of the many things that has kept me busy in the last month and away from blogging is the fact that the new job basically required me to buy a new car. I am now the proud owner of a 1997 Honda Accord (there will more than likely be a picture of that one of these days.) I am a firm believer that a new car requires a new keychain. Thus a Lego Wookie has come into my life. Isn't he adorable?

Heart!

This is a photo of one of my Starbucks cups a few weeks ago. I believe it was part of their Valentine's promotions or something. Regardless - I thought the heart on it was pretty and it kept me entertained for an afternoon (long after the coffee goodness was gone.)

more downtown

This is another photo (taken with my phone) out the old office window. I was just really loving the way the morning light was reflecting off everything. it made the city look very pretty.

Light

You'll probably notice in this series of "update" posts that there are a few themes. There is an explanation, usually each picture I post is one of about five or six pictures of roughly the same thing and I then pick the one I like the best. In a few cases you'll see here what has actually happened is that I've taken several pictures of the same thing that I actually like individually, so there will be many pictures of shells and bunnies today. This begins another, less obvious, theme. There will be several pictures today that were actually taken on my phone. This one was taken out the window of the office at my old job. It was the first morning we'd seen sun for - oh - three weeks or so and it was really cool reflected off of the other buildings down town.

Seaside

Back in the day when my parents lived in California we went to the beach a lot while I visited them. During those trips I collected a goodly amount of shells, most of which ended up being pretty boring once I got home and they dried out. There was a pretty big pile of them that stayed pretty cool though. Steve found a bag full of them while cleaning last week and we decided it was probably time they get displayed somewhere. So now they're a centerpiece on our table.

Hurley!

Ladies and gentlemen, meet Hurley. See our apartment building doesn't allow pets. And that's one of the few things we don't enjoy about where we live. Steve and I want a puppy. We want a puppy really badly and we want one now. But... we can't have one. So we've semi-adopted a bunny that hangs out on our patio a lot. Once the snow fell, he started hiding under our grill a lot. Now Steve's started feeding him almost every day. The sun has also come out a little bit lately and we've spied Hurley hanging out in the patch of sun right outside our door. I'll admit it, he's a damn cute bunny.

Oh and we've also discovered that in addition to lettuce and carrots, bunnies also like cheerios. In case you were wondering.

Why Hello There...

In what comes a surprise to no one, turns out I'm a kind of bad blogger. I started out here wanting to post a new picture along with a post every day. Seeing as how it's been a month since I've updated, that clearly hasn't happened. It's now too far gone for me to catch up so here's what we're going to do: I'm going to do a bunch of little posts today with pictures that I've taken recently with some simple explanations of what they're about. And that's about it. We'll start business as usual tomorrow.
